Well Done Sylvia!

A woman who has dedicated many hours to netball in the region was recognised for her efforts at the end of season event for the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic.

Sylvia Smith said she had been overwhelmed by the messages of congratulations after she was presented to the event, to highlight her work as a volunteer for the sport.

"I was totally surprised you don't expect such things but I appreciated it very much," she said.

She did not know who had suggested she be recognised.

"Casey Kopua was the person who spoke about me and presented me with flowers and the goodies."

Morrinsville Netball Centre, where Smith has worked hard to promote the game, posted on its Facebook page a tribute.
